Efficient Group Street Lighting Control in Agartala, India – 20 000+ Lights Managed by DITRA smart lighting software

Group-based relay control system deployed across Agartala with over 300 control modules, reducing costs and improving urban lighting management

India project

A large-scale street lighting control system was deployed across Agartala, India, to improve energy efficiency and streamline lighting operations. The project covers 20 000+ luminaires connected through group relay control and managed centrally via DITRA’s intelligent lighting platform.

What Was Implemented

To enable fast and scalable control, a group-based control strategy was applied. More than 300 relay-based controllers were installed inside existing power cabinets, allowing remote switching of lighting groups across the city. The system is fully integrated with the DITRA CMS platform, which enables scenario-based switching and centralized monitoring of all connected zones.

Results & Benefits

  • $300,000+ saved annually through optimized lighting schedules and reduced maintenance

  • Improved lighting reliability and operational visibility

  • Fast deployment using a proven group control strategy

  • Scalable infrastructure ready for future upgrades to individual light control

Technology Advantage

Relay-based group control has proven to be one of the most cost-effective and scalable solutions for rapidly growing urban areas. With future-proof flexibility, Agartala’s system can evolve into a fully smart lighting network by simply adding additional Powerline or Radio modules to existing DITRA controllers.
